The cure for GAS?

GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) is a well-known problem amongst photographers. The constant eBay trawling, and for me, casing second hand shops, boot fairs for a diamond in the rough, can be time-consuming and rather expensive.

One writer has taken the stance of “go big of go home”: http://believeinfilm.com/article/buying-leica-or-cure-gas

Go on, read it. I’ll wait.

I’d love to skip all the piecemeal buying and go straight for an expensive, perfect camera. However financially it’s impossible. Plus, I’ve never used a Leica, so I have no idea what all the fuss is about. I’ve used other rangefinders, the Olympus AX was our family camera for years, but they’re not in the same league as the Leica.

What do you think? And do you have a Leica I could borrow? šŸ˜›
